Tree questions? We’ve got branches of answers.

Do not fear Arbor Monkees is here!

How do I know if a tree is dangerous?

Look for large dead branches, cracks in the trunk, mushrooms growing at the base, leaning that has recently worsened, or roots lifting out of the ground. After storms, trees can be damaged in ways that aren't obvious from a distance. If you're unsure, it's worth having an arborist take a look. It's always better to ask early than wait until a tree falls.

Can you handle hazardous or storm-damaged trees?

Yes. Arbor Monkees specializes in hazardous trees. If a tree is actively dangerous, keep people away from the area and call right away.

Do you have an ISA Certified Arborist?

Yes, Arbor Monkees has an ISA Certified Arborist on staff for tree health, planting, diagnostics, and care recommendations.

Do you clean up after the job?

Absolutely. Tree work can get messy, but our goal is to leave your property looking neat and ready to enjoy. Cleanup details are included in the estimate so everyone knows exactly what to expect.

Do you plant trees?

Yes. Tree planting is available, including help thinking through location, spacing, and tree selection.

Do you install Christmas lights?

Yes. Seasonal Christmas light installation is available. It is best to ask early before the holiday rush.

Is it safe to trim trees near power lines?

No. Trees growing near power lines can be extremely dangerous. Never attempt to trim branches that are touching or close to electrical lines yourself. Arbor Monkees can help assess the situation and advise on the safest next steps.

When is the best time to trim trees?

It depends on the tree and the goal. Many trees benefit from pruning during late fall or winter when they're dormant, but hazardous limbs should be removed whenever they're discovered. An arborist can recommend the best timing for your specific tree.

Should I remove a tree after a storm?

Not always. Some storm-damaged trees can recover with proper pruning and care, while others become unsafe and need removal. If branches are hanging, the trunk is split, or the tree is leaning toward a structure, keep everyone away from the area and call for an evaluation.

Are you insured?

Yes. Arbor Monkees carries insurance for the work we perform. Tree work can involve heavy equipment, heights, and hazardous conditions, so hiring an insured company helps protect both homeowners and workers.
